The Oval Office created a six-week, experience-driven communication campaign – titled Set sail for the energy of the future – focusing on PR, brand activation, online engagement and events.
The campaign was made up of three elements:
- Activation – To get positive press exposure and engage citizens, we installed 15,000 paper windmills on Ostend beach, symbolising the one million milestone and bringing offshore wind energy closer to the local population. People could pick up a paper windmill and win a boat trip to the wind parks by submitting a unique code (printed on the windmill) to a designated landing page.
- Online campaign – To increase knowledge of offshore wind energy and to encourage people to participate in the competition, we conceived, developed and promoted an online quiz about offshore wind energy.
- Live experience – To conclude the campaign, we organised guided discovery boat trips to several offshore wind parks in the North Sea over the course of two days.
